The article concerns the effectiveness of polish social policy in terms of reducing the impact of current negative demographic trends. In particular it consist of: the analysis of demographic trends of period 1989–2014 in Poland; the outline of polish social policy in terms of model of polish social policy and family benefits; evaluation of effectiveness of polish social policy in terms of reducing the impact of current negative demographic trends. The article is completed with recommendations.

Artykuł dotyczy problematyki funkcjonowania polskiej polityki społecznej w aspekcie jej skuteczności w łagodzeniu współczesnych negatywnych trendów demograficznych. W tekście dokonano analizy trendów demograficznych w latach 19892–2014, świadczeń rodzinnych oraz oceny skuteczności polityki społecznej w aspekcie wpływu na demografię społeczeństwa polskiego.
