This paper is concerned with the conveyance of the corpse to academies for research purposes. The study is to present procedures of the conveyance of the corpse for the aim in question. It also discusses hypothetically the possibility of the funeral of the corpse which was earlier conveyed to the academy as there is a lack of statutory regulation on that matter. In addition, the study presents the variety of issues associated with a death grant due to costs of a funeral of the conveyed corpse. In particular, the emphasis is put on the weaknesses of current legislative solution. The paper includes amendments proposed with a view to improving this vulnerable state of affairs.

Tematem artykułu jest przekazanie zwłok uczelni medycznej na cele naukowe i jego konsekwencje na gruncie prawa ubezpieczeń społecznych oraz tzw. prawa pogrzebowego. Omówiono tryby przekazania zwłok na wskazane cele oraz rozważono, czy de lege lata możliwe jest sprawienie pogrzebu ciału oddanemu placówce medycznej. Ustawodawca bowiem nie normuje tego zagadnienia. Przeanalizowano wybrane zagadnienia dotyczące zasiłku pogrzebowego w przypadku zorganizowania takiej ceremonii. Wskazano kwestie sporne z tym związane, w tym słabość rozwiązań legislacyjnych. Zawarto również postulaty de lege ferenda, mające przysłużyć się rozwiązaniu zaprezentowanych problemów.
