PL

Zasadniczym celem artykułu jest podsumowanie aktualnego stanu wiedzy na temat procesu gentryfikacji w polskiej i zagranicznej literaturze, a także podjęcie dyskusji nad barierami podejmowania badań w tym zakresie. W artykule przedstawiono kluczowe sposoby definiowania gentryfikacji, koncepcje wyjaśniające oraz zarysowano istotę procesu. Niewątpliwie gentryfikacja staje się istotnym nurtem badań miejskich i nie tylko. Badacze zauważają w niej kluczowy czynnik restrukturyzacji miast postindustrialnych. W polskich badaniach nadal zauważany jest niedobór ekonomicznego podejścia do analizowania procesu, a także wypracowanych podstaw metodologicznych i teoretycznych. Bariery stanowią przede wszystkim: chaos terminologiczny, problem z ustaleniem aktorów gentryfikacji i wartościowaniem procesu oraz mnogość podejść badawczych i trudny dostęp do niektórych danych.
