Jolanta Maria Szulakowska-Kulawik

• professor at the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice. She received her Ph.D. from the Institute of Arts of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Warsaw in 1985, and her habilitation from the Polish Academy of Sciences in 1997. She is the author of ten books on Silesian musical culture during the 20th century, a study of the life and work of Francis Poulenc, a biography of the Silesian composer Józef Świder, and also some sixty articles published in Poland, Italy and the Czech Republic.
