  • professor and Head of the Department of Musicology at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań. He obtained his Ph.D. in 1990 for a monograph on the 16th century Italian musical thought and his habilitation in 2003 on the basis of the book Muzyka figurata w Saksonii i na Śląsku u schyłku XV wieku. Studia nad repertuarem kodeksów menzuralnych Berlin 40021, Lipsk 1494 I Warszawa 5892 [Musica figurata in Saxony and Silesia at the end of the 15th century. Studies on the repertoire of the mensural codices Berlin 40021, Leipzig 1494, and Warsaw 5892] (Poznań, 2002). His research interests include the history of Polish, Italian and German music of the 15,h-17th centuries and the problems of organology. He is the author of two books and a number of articles published in Poland, Germany and Italy.
