  • assistant professor of the Department of Musicology at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań and at the Ignacy Jan Paderewski Academy of Music in Poznań. He was awarded his Ph.D. in 1997 for the subsequently published thesis Semantyka tonacji w niemieckich dziełach operowych XVIII-XIX wieku [The semantics of key in German opera of the 18th and 19th centuries] (Toruń, 2000) and his habilitation in 2005, based on the Habilitationsschrift Afekt w operach Mozarta i Rossiniego [Affect in the operas of Mozart and Rossini] (Poznań, 2004). His research focuses on 18th-century opera, especially the history, aesthetics and sociology of the genre. Since 2000 he has been editor-in-chief of the opera journal Operomania published by Poznań Opera House and since 2004 program consultant to Poznań Opera House.
