 Autor zwraca uwagę na powszechny charakter powołania do świętości odwołując się do kategorii „zwyczajna świętość”. Przypomina współczesne nauczanie Kościoła katolickiego, które od czasu Soboru Watykańskiego II podkreśla, że świętość jest darem i zadaniem wszystkich chrześcijan. Ilustruje to wypowiedziami papieży Pawła VI, Jana Pawła II, i Benedykt XVI. Na koniec wskazuje na kilka przykładów potwierdzających, że każdy rodzaj aktywności życiowej może być przestrzenią realizacji powołania do świętości. Zauważa przy tym, że zwyczajna świętość jest zawsze jakąś pozytywną reakcją i odpowiedzią uczniów Jezusa na znaki czasu, w którym żyją. Wśród tych znaków można wskazać obecnie na zmieniający się stosunek człowieka do prawdy, do życia ludzkiego jako wartości fundamentalnej, do miłości małżeńskiej, która w istocie jest wierna i wyłączna, a także do służby jako formy miłości na co dzień.

The topic of this paper is the universal call to holiness with reference to the notion of “ordinary holiness”. The contemporary teaching of the Catholic Church, particularly since Vatican II, has underlined that holiness is both a gift and a task for all Christians. It is illustrated with several papal pronouncements by Paul VI, John Paul II and Benedict XVI. Finally the paper points out to some examples which confirm that any activity in life is appropriate for fulfilling the call to holiness. It is also noticed that ordinary holiness is a positive reaction and response of Christ’s disciples to the signs of the time they face. Some of those signs of the time are nowadays: man’s changing attitude to the truth, to human life as a fundamental value, to conjugal love which is in its essence faithful and exclusive, as well as to service as a form of daily love.

Der Verfasser verweist auf den allumfassenden Charakter der Berufung zur Heiligkeit, indem er auf die Kategorie "alltägliche Heiligkeit" zurückgreift. Herbeigerufen werden dabei die Verlautbarungen des Lehramtes der katholischen Kirche, die seit dem Zweiten Vatikanischen Konzil betont, dass die Heiligkeit sowohl eine Gabe, wie auch eine Aufgabe ist. Die Analysen werden durch Texte der Päpste: Paul VI., Johannes Paul II. und Benedikt XVI. illustriert. Schließlich werden einige Beispiele aufgeführt, die bestätigen, dass jede Art der alltäglichen Tätigkeit einen Raum für die Realisierung der Berufung zur Heiligkeit bilden kann. Es wird dabei vermerkt, dass die alltägliche Heiligkeit immer schon eine positive Reaktion und Antwort der Jünger Jesu auf die Zeichen der Zeiten ist, in denen sie leben. Unter diesen Zeitzeichen kann man heute die veränderte Einstellung zur Wahrheit und zum menschlichen Leben als einem fundamentale Wert, zur ehelichen Liebe, die in ihrem Wesen ausschließlich treu ist, wie auch zum Dienst als einer Form der Liebe im Alltag erkennen.
