W niniejszym artykule omówiona została istota małżeństwa w głównych religiach świata (judaizm, islam, hinduizm, buddyzm religie ludów pierwotnych). Przedstawiono też zwyczaje i formy zawierania małżeństwa. Zwrócono uwagę na etykę współżycia małżeńskiego. W dalszej kolejności wskazano na wybrane wypowiedzi Urzędu Nauczycielskiego Kościoła na temat małżeństwa i rodziny w różnych religiach. Przedstawiono aspekty: religioznawczy, prawny, dialogiczny małżeństwa międzyreligijnego, czyli tzw. małżeństwa mieszanego. Po naświetleniu fenomenu tej instytucji zwrócono uwagę na pasterską troska Kościoła katolickiego o małżeństwa mieszane i ich rodzinny. Troska ta jest wyrazem dialogu międzyreligijnego. Nie ulega wątpliwości, że małżeństwo i rodziną stanowią fundament życia społeczeństw różnych kultur i religii. W epoce wielokulturowości (i związanych z nią różnych światopoglądów, systemów normatywnych) małżeństwa międzyreligijne stają się wyzwaniem do dialogu interreligijnego. Ważne jest wobec powyższego poznanie rozlicznych tematów, problemów i dylematów dotyczących małżeństwa i rodziny w religiach niechrześcijańskich.

This paper discusses the essence of marriage in the world’s major religions (Judaism, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, religions of primitive peoples) and presents the customs and forms of concluding marriage as well as the ethics of marital cohabitation. The paper goes on to analyse selected statements by the teaching office of the Church on the subject of marriage and family in various religions. The question of “mixed” or interreligious marriage is analysed from the perspective of religious rules, law and interreligious dialogue. Attention is drawn to the pastoral care shown by the Catholic Church to mixed marriages and families. This care is a manifestation of interreligious dialogue. Each religion has its own unique understanding of the institution of marriage and family. A mixed marriage brings together two different views of this institution: these views are mutually exclusive in some aspects and coincident in other aspects. Marriage and family undoubtedly constitute the foundation of societies representing various cultures and religions. The religious views on marriage exert an indisputable impact on the moral and social order of individual groups, communities and societies.

Im folgenden Artikel wird das Wesen der Ehe in den großen Weltreligionen (Judaismus, Islam, Hinduismus, Buddhismus, Religionen der Urvölker) besprochen. Es werden auch Bräuche und Formen der Eheschließung sowie die Ethik der vorehelichen Geschlechtsverkehrs analysiert. Weiter werden ausgewählte Verlautbarungen des kirchlichen Lehramtes bezüglich der Ehe und Familie in anderen Religionen angeführt. Wichtig sind dabei religionswissenschaftliche, rechtliche und dialogische Aspekte der religionsverschiedenen Ehe also der sogenannten Mischehe. Nach der Darstellung dieses Phänomens wird der seelsorgliche Einsatz der katholischen Kirche um die Mischehen und ihre Familien betrachtet. Es steht außer Frage, dass Ehe und Familie ein gesellschaftliches Lebensfundament verschiedener Kulturen und Religionen bilden. In der multikulturellen Epoche werden Mischehen zu einer Herausforderung für den interreligiösen Dialog. Wichtig ist es, verschiedene Probleme im Bezug auf die Ehe und Familie in nichtchristlichen Religionen zu kennen.
