Youth Tourism in Poland in the Period of the Polish People’s Republic and in the Period of the Polish Th ird RepublicIn the article the Author presented the general aspects of youth tourism developmentin Poland in two periods of its history. Th e fi rst one is connected with theperiod of the Polish People’s Republic and the second with the period of the PolishTh ird Republic. Th e author presented the most important features of youth tourismdevelopment in these two mentioned periods of Poland’s history. During the PolishPeople’s Republic youth tourism was well developed and it had a social character. Th edevelopment of this form of tourism during this period was supported by the state.Diff erent forms of youth tourism, mainly qualifi ed tourism and leisure tourism weresupported not only by the state but also because of activity of the Polish Tourist andSightseeing Society and Th e Polish Scouting and Guiding Association. In this fi eldthe Catholic Church in Poland played an important role, too. During the period of thePolish Th ird Republic the activity of the Polish Tourist and Sightseeing Society inyouth tourism development was important, too. Besides, in the development of thiskind of tourism diff erent private fi rms, travel agencies played a very important role.In this period of Poland’s history there were not any bailout for the youth tourismindustry from the state.
