Among ca. 110 thousand companies functioning in the Warminsko-Mazurski region small and medium sized enterprises accounted for 99.86%. Almost 40% of them were trading companies which most actively cooperated with foreign countries. Self-governments of the region pay a significant attention to the creation of favorable conditions for development of this sector
