The article presents problems met by Polish translator of Portuguese 'Wieczna przadka' by Mia Couto and ways of solving them according to cognitive-communicative strategy proposed by K. Hejwowski (2004). The annex contains working version of the translation. The best solutions of the described problems are presented in there.
