The category, which plays dominant part in the process of describing 'mine and strange' relation in a Bulgarian novel of Vasil Drumev entitled 'Unfortunate family' is the category of faith, in which a Christian is always a priori good, as opposed to a Muslim. The essence of faith in Drumevs writing reaches back to tribal times and appears also in the Old Testament's tradition. According to this tradition God is reduced to the protector of the one, chosen nation. He watches over its members and metes out punishment to others, who harm them. This nationalization of God or deification by a given nation excuses, makes up for all its failures and gives to its suffering a sacred dimension. Feature of Strange, which is evidence of his strangeness, is his exteriority, being outside from accepted circle. This stamp is enough to subject him to demonization and place it on the position of an enemy.
