W artykule podjęto rozważania dotyczące istoty i specyfiki innowacji w sektorze usług, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem wdrażanych rodzajów innowacji (procesowych, produktowych, marketingowych i organizacyjnych). Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie innowacyjności sektora usług w Polsce oraz wskazanie egzo- i endogenicznych źródeł tych innowacji. Realizacji tak sformułowanego celu podporządkowano rozważania w następujących obszarach: 1) istoty i rodzajów innowacji; 2) determinant innowacji w sektorze usług; 3) rekomendacji dla rozwoju innowacji w tym sektorze.

The article undertakes discussions concerning the nature and characteristics of innovation in the service sector, with particular emphasis on the implemented types of innovation (process, product, marketing and organizational). The purpose of this article is to present the innovativeness of the service sector in Poland and to indicate exogenous and endogenous sources of these innovations. The discussion was conducted in the following areas: 1) the nature and types of innovation; 2) the determinants of innovation in the service sector; 3) recommendations for the development of innovation in this sector.
