Artykuł poświęcony jest zagadnieniu tożsamości. W pierwszej części przedstawione zostały rozważania teoretyczno-metodologiczne dotyczące terminu i pojęcia tożsamość. Na podstawie literatury [tekst powstał w 2006 roku] zostały także scharakteryzowane „różne tożsamości” [różne zakresy tożsamości], m.in. jednostkowa, grupowa, społeczna, kulturowa itd. Druga część artykułu skoncentrowana jest zaś na poszukiwaniu odpowiedzi na pytanie o rolę miejsca, w którym się żyje w kształtowaniu poczucia tożsamości człowieka.

The article is devoted to the issue of identity in social sciences. The first part presents the theoretical ad methodological considerations concerning the notion and term identity. Based on the state of arts literature [texts published in Polish by 2006]. I scrutinize “different identities” [different ranges of identity]: individual, collective, social, cultural, etc. The second part of the article focuses on the question what role our place of living plays in the shaping of human identity.
