The Republic of India has been for years one of the most influential powers in Asia. The growing importance of the Indian Ocean indicates development of the maritime nature of India’s foreign policy. From an economic and geostrategic perspective, the Strait of Malacca is one of the most important shipping lanes in the world as well as one of the crash zones in Asia. One of the crucial matters in foreign policy of India is to ensure a protection of transports exceeding Strait.
