Artykuł stanowi formę raportu z badań dotyczących stosunku i postrzegania przez osoby młode – studentów pedagogiki – starości przebiegającej w ośrodku pomocy społecznej dla osób starych. Analiza zgromadzonego materiału empirycznego została wzbogacona przykładami wypowiedzi dotyczących różnych płaszczyzn spostrzeżeń związanych z obserwacją ludzi starych zamieszkujących zinstytucjonalizowaną placówkę. Ponadto w artykule starano się ukazać przyczynę wielu trudnych emocji opisywanych przez studentki i studentów, jakie pojawiały się względem podopiecznych ośrodka.

The article is a form of a research report on the attitude and perception of young people – students of pedagogy – about the old age in the social welfare center for the elderly people. Analysis of the collected empirical material was enriched with examples of statements on different planes insights linked to observation of old people living in an institutional facility. Additionally, this article attempts to show the cause of many difficult emotions described by female and male students that appeared in relation to the pupils of the center.
