This paper is devoted to the relation between postcolonial theory and East European tradition. The author asks to which extent post-colonialism can be used as a tool in the explanation of contemporary politics in those countries, especially Poland. The main thesis of the paper is that, in fact, the contemporary politics in Poland can explain the usage of post-colonial theory in different political and theoretical contexts. Various examples of the post-colonial rhetoric show, according to the author, that post-colonial involvement of Polish academics and journalists is in many cases obviously politically motivated.
