Autor charakteryzuje Międzynarodówkę Sytuacjonistów, ruch który wiele uwagi poświęcił miastu i jego przestrzeni. Wskazuje nie tylko na możliwości wykorzystania przez socjologów miasta takich technik sytuacjonistów, jak dryf, detournement, oraz psychogeografia, ale także na możliwość przyswojenia przez socjologię miasta całego dorobku sytuacjonistów, wszystkich proponowanych przez nich zaleceń formalnych.

Author gives characteristic of International Situationist Movement to check the possibility of using its output in city researches. Paper contains the presentation of drift, deturnement, psycho-geography, and urbanistic bases. According to author, acts proposed by situationists may be used as research tools in urban sociology. To make it possible it is necessary to establish the methodological bases of correctness of their using. It is imperative to separate and remove the ideological layer contained in situationists’ proposals. Author on the grounds of directives given by the founding members of the movement tries to create methodological bases to enable the transfer of elements taken from situationists’ output to urban sociology.
