The article attempts to present and verify the concept of trustworthy guardian, introduced by Tadeusz Kotarbinski, as a model for ethical leadership in the company. Firstly, the author discusses the basic assumptions of T. Kotarbinski’s concept, trying to demonstrate its broad subject scope and its relevance to the modern business conditions. Then, macro and micro social determinants of promoting the trustworthy quardianship concept within the company are presented. The last part of the paper deals with the boss trustworthy quardian and his actions, ranging from traditional, protective ones aimed at people affected by various random incidents to mentoring or outplacement. The author also points out boss’s anti-protective attitudes, which became evident in the time of economic crises.
