The ambiguous consideration for philosophy and philosophers on the part of the public opinion – either as for the God’s fools or for ideological fanatics — is characteristic of the normal condition of the society. But when the society finds itself in crisis, in the sense-loss situation it appears from this that those very philosophers, in fact, prove to be guilty: it turns out that they taught us wrong things and in a wrong way. Asking himself what stands behind all that, the author considers the peculiarities of the Russian philosophical culture of the late 20th — early 21st centuries: typical subjects and methods of philosophizing, main trends, their evolution, and ways of organization of the philosophic life. Resuming the analysis the author contends that the philosophical culture more and more acquires the character of natural environment of philosophizing, which corresponds to Russian culture of the new Millenium.
