The article focuses on identifying areas that should be covered by the general principles of the Urban Planning and Construction Code. It takes into account the academic achievements and jurisprudence worked out on the basis of the current legal regulations concerning urban planning and building matters, and refers as well to the property rights protected in the Constitution of the Republic of Poland.
