The Franciscan Library at St. Mary of the Snow in Prague holds a manuscript of a Kadan Town Chronicle not quoted by special literature till now. The manuscript dates from the end of the 16th century and describes the history of the town from its origin in the year 829 - this part was overtaken from the Chronicle by Vaclav Hajek of Libocany - until the days of its author, till the year 1599.
