The main goal of the paper is to define the regional distribution of educational infrastructure and its factors in Poland in 1991-2004. According to endogenous growth theory (see Lucas, 1998), a human capital plays the crucial role in economic growth. Moreover human capital increases because of the purposeful investment (schooling mainly) in this stock. The statistical analyses provided in this paper confirm that there is statistically significant regional diversity of educational infrastructure. Moreover, each element of educational infrastructure has different impact on the explained variable. The most important are factors connected with educational potential rather, especially the potential of tertiary education.
