There were numerous archeological discoveries in the interwar period at the territories of the Pomeranian voivodeship. Through the agency of local authorities, i.e. the police, commune heads (wójt), starosts, all these discoveries were formally reported to the Pomeranian Voivodeship head, and from there the cases were referred to Zygmunt Zakrzewski – the state conservator of prehistoric monuments in Poznań (Państwowy Konserwator Zabytków Przedhistoycznych), who personally intervened or handed over the research conduction to Jacek Delekta – the curator of the Prehistoric Department at the Toruń Regional Museum (Muzeum Miejskie). In the State Archives in Bydgoszcz (Archiwum Państwowe), there are documents of the Pomeranian Voivodeship Office in Toruń (Pomorski Urząd Wojewódzki), in which we can trace the history of many discoveries from the districts of Brodnica, Chełmno, Grudziądz, Świecie and Wąbrzeźno. Some of these discoveries have been researched and recorded in scientific literature, some have only been briefly mentioned in archival documents. All these documents expand our knowledge about many archeological sites and show the engagement of the authority representatives at different levels in saving monuments.
