The aim of the article is to present the position of the Muslim League in Poland on the issue of citizenship. The paper focuses on the aspect of citizenship in the institutional and legal area stressing civic duties associated with civil loyalty, participation and identification. Additionally, the analysis is supplemented with the issue of Muslim integration into the Polish society. Moreover, the article highlights the role of Islam as a factor determining the civic attitudes presented by the Muslim League in Poland. The manner in which the problem of citizenship is presented in the paper indicates that it is referred to the declared positions, which characterize the particular religious association, rather than the communities of the Polish Muslims of immigrant origin. The analyzed concept of citizenship created by the League is religiously conditioned. The catchphrase: to be a good Muslim means to be a good citizen, which the League refers to, seems to be of the highest significance in his context. This example shows that a religion in this case can be an important factor determining the civil attitudes in the process of integration of the Muslim communities of immigrant origin with the Polish society, and in the broadest perspective, with the European communities.

Celem artykułu jest opis zagadnień koncertujących się na przyszłości społeczności muzułmańskich w Europie Zachodniej oraz mitów związanych ze wzrostem liczebności tych mniejszości na Starym Kontynencie. To zagadnienie związane są ze strachem przed islamizacją Europy. W artykule wykazuję, że wizja Eurabii jest jedynie mitem. Ponadto koncentruję się na trendach demograficznych charakterystycznych dla tych społeczności – ich obecną sytuacją, a także prognozami na okres 2010–2030. Związane jest to m.in. ze średnim rocznym wzrostem tych społeczności, wskaźnikami dzietności, proporcjami płci wśród tych mniejszości, a także zagadnieniami związanymi z przyszłymi migracjami wyznawców islamu do Europy Zachodniej.

Celem artykułu jest analiza społecznych kryteriów polskości z perspektywy włączania obcokrajowców do uczestniczenia w polskiej wspólnocie narodowej. W artykule uwaga jest skoncentrowana na aspektach teoretycznych przynależności do narodu i państwa, np. kwestiach redefinicji instytucji obywatelstwa, na zagadnieniach zwiększonego napływu do Polski społeczności imigranckich korzeniach: uchodźcach, imigrantach – zaliczanych do tzw. widocznych mniejszości (visible miniorities). Empiryczna część analiz jest prezentacją społecznych kryteriów polskości w społeczeństwie polskim w świetle danych OBOP-u obejmujących lata 1988, 1998 i 2008.
