The Final Report of the Interstate Aviation Committee (IAC) regarding the plane crash of 10 April 2010 and its official translation became the starting point to an analysis concerning the quality of the translation as well as the use of both texts in translation didactics. Since the IAC Report is a special text with a complex structure and a high number of scientific terms, its translation causes a variety of problems. Excerpts of the Report were translated into Polish by the students of the Faculty of Applied Linguistics of the University of Warsaw. The results of the comparative analysis of students’ translations and the corresponding excerpts of the official translation are surprising.

Niobe, a poem by Gałczyński was interpreted with verse and musical references, in the context of Mediterranean culture and contemporary realities of the palace of Nieborów, where a copy of the Ancient sculpture is located. The author creates a “film theory of narratology” and proceeds with reflections on various relationships between literature and cinema, on natural sight and imagination, and takes into consideration the following perspective theories: intersemiotic comparative, Bergson, Ingarden, Helman, Ziomek. Next, he offers a film interpretation of the descriptive part of the poem through a Large Violin Concert.

Próba interpretacji wiersza Tuwima Przyglądając się gwiazdom zostaje podjęta w kontekście Romana Ingardena fenomenologicznej teorii dzieła literackiego. Problem genezy świata i człowieka wpisuje się w szerokie konteksty: zarówno aktualnego stanu wiedzy naukowej z dziedziny kosmologii i astrofizyki, jak koncepcji ontologicznych filozofii, mitologii i religii. Zagadkowe obrazowanie poety ujawnia wysiłek w pokonywaniu oporu niewyrażalności języka i programowanych przezeń pojęć, logiki, a także wyobrażenia, jaki stanowi abstrakcja nicości, poprzedzającej genezę Wszechświata i tajemnicę życia.

An attempt to interpret Julian Tuwim’s poem Looking at the stars is made in the con- text of Roman Ingarden’s phenomenological theory of literary work. The problem of the origin of the world and man is part of a broad context: both the current state of scientific knowledge in the field of cosmology and astrophysics, as well as onto - logical concepts of philosophy, mythology and religion. Mysterious imaging reveals the poet's effort to overcome the resistance of ineffability of language and linguisti- cally programmed concepts, logic, as well as the idea that an abstract nothingness, prior to the creation of the universe and the mystery of life.
