An integrated supply chain is currently a decisive factor when it comes to remaining on increasingly demanding markets. Optimal organization of the supply chain is often a serious challenge for businesses that need to function in a more efficient way, and to provide products tailored to individual customers’ needs. The accuracy and precision at every stage are crucial, as well as shorter response time to changes in demand, customer tastes and economic conditions.

A shrinking market of regional passenger transport results in the fact that transport companies providing services on these routes are forced to fiercely compete with one another for their customers. As a result not only economic reasons become essential but the quality of services provided as well. Following an increased number of research on customers’ preferences a question arises: what kind of knowledge should the analysts possess while preparing information referring to the measurements carried out. The authors, using the example of a selected regional route prove that the conclusions referring to the quality of services provided should be complemented by a deepened analysis of objective factors connected with the characteristics of a selected route. Only then the managerial decisions which are made will be based on comprehensive market information.

The use of Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems RPAS has been considered for a wide range of tasks performed in global logistics systems and territorial infrastructure. In order to improve the efficiency the advanced methods of using new unmanned vehicles with extensive use of features modular construction and design modifications have been proposed.

The article aims to present the results of research conducted by the International University of Logistics and Transport in Wroclaw on behalf of the Municipality of Wroclaw, concerning the demand for transportation among entrepreneurs in Wroclaw Agglomeration in the medium term (3 - 5 years). The essence of the study was to determine the volume of traffic generated by enterprises excluding intra-urban traffic and to provide additional information describing this movement in terms of dynamics and modes of transport used. The obtained results are compared to research conducted by J. Burnewicz (2007) regarding the projected demand for transport services in Poland until 2020.

The aviation safety issue has been one of the most urgent challenges since the first day of flight operations. Aircrafts, avionics, engines, and navigation, communication and surveillance aids have changed and developed, but the problem has never lost its relevance. The main purpose of ICAO is to ensure the safe and orderly development of all aspects of international civil aviation. ICAO develops Standards and Recommended Practices. They are set out in 19 Annexes to the Convention on International Civil Aviation. The new ICAO strategies are the basis for the further sustainable development of global civil aviation. The paper paid special attention to the civil aviation hazards monitoring and risks management in the context of global aviation development trends. The paper deals with challenges of international education and introduces practical experience of the National Aviation University according to the new technologies in transport and aviation education, and trends of international cooperation with the International University of Logistics and Transport in Wroclaw in this sphere.

The principles of civil aviation safety are considered. At present time, aviation is an ultra-safe system, (i.e. a system that experiences less than one catastrophic safety breakdown every one million production cycles). But, unfortunately, we can never state that aviation activities will be absolutely safe. In current conditions the increase of the civil aviation safety level is one of the principal objectives of the world air transport development. The paper pays special attention to the civil aviation threats and risks in the context of globalization processes. The investigation deals with problems of global implementation of Annex 19 to the Convention of the International Civil Aviation. Present research paper discusses new theoretical approaches to searching for methods to assess the “safety space” of civil aviation activity. Special attention is paid to an effective test, proposed by A. Wald.

In order to explore the optimal route choice for emergency evacuation in the campus, we propose a novel route choice method based on brittle characteristics of campus system and improved ant colony algorithm. Both optimal and worst-case emergency evacuation routes are simulated in the campus of Ningbo University of Technology. From the simulation, the length of optimal and worse-case evacuation routes between the starting point and eight exits can be obtained by adjusting the importance value of trip distance and the degree of conformity, under the condition of static relative importance of pheromone concentration to graph G. The optimal route of emergency evacuation in the campus can be obtained when the importance of trip distance is above 5 and the degree of conformity is above 0.3; while the worse-case route is obtained with the importance of trip distance above 5 and the degree of conformity below 0.5.
