Celem artykułu jest zobrazowanie roli procesów politycznych towarzyszących transferowi i kreacji wiedzy w regionie, jak również wykazanie konieczności ich uwzględniania w analizie zjawisk związanych z przepływem wiedzy. Wybór kontekstu empirycznego pociąga za sobą ukazanie wymiaru politycznego na tle dyskusji nad znaczeniem tzw. mikrofundamentów dla prawidłowości opisów relacji pomiędzy konstruktami kolektywnymi. Ponadto wskazano na wymagania związane z prowadzeniem poszerzonej dyskusji teoretycznej zakładającej włączenie procesów politycznych w rozważania związane dotychczas z nurtem opartym na wiedzy.

The paper aims to both present the role of political processes that accompany knowledge transfer and creation in region and to demonstrate the necessity of their inclusion in the analysis of phenomena related to knowledge flows to be conducted in the future. The selection of empirical context entails the presentation of political dimension based on a discussion on the importance of microfoundations while describing relations among collectives. Additionally, the paper points to the requirements related to conducting theoretical discussion resulting in the inclusion of political processes into considerations concerned hitherto with so called knowledge based view.

W pierwszej części artykułu skierowano uwagę na kluczowe założenia natury przemian i wyzwań, które, w obliczu trendów w gospodarce światowej, podkreśla się w Regionalnej Strategii Innowacji Województwa Śląskiego na lata 2013-2020. Uwypuklono znaczenie tematyki brokerów wiedzy. Następnie zarysowano teoretyczne ramy problematyki pośrednictwa wiedzy, co stanowiło cel główny niniejszego artykułu. Całość zwieńczona została wnioskami, odnoszącymi się do istoty i znaczenia dalszych badań na zarysowanym polu.

The paper firstly discusses the key aspects related to both changes and challenges, which are emphasized in the “Regional Innovation Strategy of the Silesia Voivodeship on 2013-2020” in the face of trends observed nowadays in the world economy. The issue of knowledge brokers is raised. Next theoretical framework for problems concerned with brokerage function is outlined, which is the main goal of the paper. At the ending of the paper some final comments on the core of the matter as well as on planned research are included.
