The article is next in the series, sixth part of those published in „Quarterly Polonicum”, dedicated to the analysis of the perspective on the subject of love and death in the works of Polish poets. In this issue, we are focused on works of Julia Hartwig, a poet and translator of many French masterpieces. The article was conceived when the news about Tadeusz Różewicz’s death reached us on April 24 this year. It is a tribute paid to the writer being a poet, playwright and prose writer, who has almost completely changed the face of Polish contemporary literature. What the author means is to show the most important features of his literary creation and his innovations and to emphasize his courage and modesty, which were a hallmark of this outstanding person and writer.
