The article presents a comparative analysis of the Polish and Czech party systems after 1989. The author outlines the evolution of both systems, describes the main political parties and points to the decisive moments and circumstances in their formation. In the closing part of the article the author attempts to compare both systems identifying not only their shared features but also those which differentiate them.
