The participants discussed a number of interesting strategic solutions and educational projects, with emphasis on the role played by European Heritage Days. The convention also proposed a calendar and strategy of joint undertakings for the coming four years and defined target groups. The prepared material was handed over to the Monitoring Group, which met in Stavanger (Norway, 26-28 November).

During the summer vacations the National Heritage Board of Poland, cooperating with non-government organisations and institutions, held two archaeological-conservation camps intended for volunteers, and organised under the slogan: ”Come, discover and save from oblivion”. The participants, aged 18-26, could choose between saving the relics of Mazurian villages in Piska Forest or studying the Koniecpolski palace in Koniecpol. Both camps lasted for a fortnight. The camp programmes included workshops. Alongside the attained didactic objectives, the work performed by the volunteers produced also other concrete effects: the archaeological investigations made it possible to determine the walls surrounding the palace in Koniecpol, and the conservation carried out in Piska Forest restored recollections about abandoned villages and cemeteries. In this fashion, the volunteers could make their contribution to saving Polish cultural heritage.
