The article discusses findings of studies on the scope of division of functions in industrial combines. Applying a comparative method the author points at factors determining allocation of functions according to appointed or unoppointed board of the multi-plant enterprise. This is followed by analysis of factors determining the way in which particular plants are linked witch their parent company. Research findings allow the author to put forward a thesis that translocation of management functions should be elastic and dependent upon changing factors of activity of combines end plants. Relation ship between decision-mnking powers and alloacation of functions points at the need for restricting centralization of functions only with respect to those which do not hamper initiatives flowing from below.
