The main purpose of the text is to show the need of media education of seniors, and indicate specific skills that will not only make their life easier, but at the same time will satisfy their basic needs like self-realization, recognition, and entertainment. The author indicates that the possession of a specific theoretical knowledge about the new technologies and some practical skills in the use of tools offered by the developing digital society is crucial for functioning in the modern world. In this paper the author discusses the basic needs of the elderly and the methods of satisfying them with using modern technologies, as well as the functioning of the seniors in the modern information society.
