Kobiece „bycie w mieście”: Paryż. Rozważania na podstawie „Dziennika” Marii Baszkircew

The article is bringing the issue of the women’s being up in city, according to Heidegger’s concept “of being – in – world”. In this article, I’m demonstrating women’s form of becoming known in culture, literature through the writing and painting. And also, I’m presenting women’s experiencing and the reading of city. To this analysis and interpretations, I chose women’s personal notes from the XIX century: Diaries by Maria Baszkircew, Russian artist, who lived and worked in France, in Paris. Maria wrote about Paris, visiting this city, about travels all over France or to other countries a lot of. She was showing Paris from a perspective of the resident, the tourist and the stroller.

W artykule poruszono kwestię obecności kobiet w mieście, zgodnie z koncepcją Heideggera „bycia w świecie”. Pokazano kobiecą formę poznawania kultury, literatury poprzez pisanie i malowanie. A ponadto autorka artykułu przedstawia doświadczenia kobiet, ich czytanie miasta. Do tej analizy i interpretacji wybrano kobiece zapiski z XIX w. – Dziennik Marii Baszkircew, rosyjskiej artystki, która mieszkała i pracowała we Francji, w Paryżu. Maria pisała o stolicy Francji, odwiedzając to miasto, o podróżach po całym tym państwie lub o podróżach do wielu innych krajów. Pokazała Paryż z perspektywy rezydenta, turystki i spacerowiczki.

The article is an attempt to look at the state of research in Poland nconcerning the study of femininity and women as well as literary sources in this field. The female concept of “being-in-the-world” is an original version, in line with the current trend of literary studies, conducted for many years, and initiated or initiated on a larger scale in the 90s of the twentieth century. The presence of a woman or her “being-in-the world” defines female experiences, family, social and national roles, love, initiation, rebellious or personal relationships, and thus refers to mythical and stereotypical phenomena rooted in culture. It is also about female learning about the world, being in reality, in culture, in literature, most often through writing, marking the experience of time.

Artykuł jest próbą spojrzenia na stan badań w Polsce, dotyczący studiów nad kobiecością i kobietami oraz nad źródłami literackimi z tego zakresu. Kobieca koncepcja „bycia-w-świecie” jest autorską wersją wpisującą się w dotychczasowy nurt badań literaturoznawczych, prowadzonych od wielu już lat, a zapoczątkowanych czy zainicjowanych na większą skalę w latach 90. XX w. Obecność kobieca, czyli jej „bycie-w-świecie”, określa żeńskie doświadczenia, role rodzinne, społeczne i narodowe, relacje miłosne, inicjacyjne, buntownicze czy osobiste, a przez to odsyła do zakorzenionych w kulturze mitycznych i stereotypowych zjawisk. To także kobiece poznawanie świata, trwanie w rzeczywistości, w kulturze, w literaturze, najczęściej poprzez pisarstwo, oznaczenie doświadczenia czasu.

The article is a literary (preliminary) attempt to look at the modest literary output of Aurelia Wyleżyńska, a writer and publicist, practically unknown and forgotten. It is also an attempt to discuss her female perspective on the world. The heroines of Wyleżyńska’s novel are strong, independent, courageous, lonely women who want happiness, love, and sometimes a partner. Seemingly weak and submissive, in fact resourceful, progressive, rising above the average, they do not give in to the pressure of the environment and from the most difficult experiences they can draw the knowledge necessary for further development, becoming advocates of change themselves. Wyleżyńska was then an emancipator in the best sense of the word, and at the same time managed to maintain a childlike sensitivity in observing the world.

Artykuł jest literaturoznawczą (wstępną) próbą spojrzenia na skromny dorobek powieściowy Aurelii Wyleżyńskiej, pisarki i publicystki, praktycznie nieznanej i zapomnianej, oraz jej (żeńską) perspektywę patrzenia na świat. Bohaterki powieści to kobiety silne, samodzielne, odważne, niezależne, a przy tym samotne, pragnące szczęścia, miłości, niekiedy partnera. Pozornie słabe i uległe, w rzeczywistości zaradne, postępowe, wyrastające ponad przeciętność, które nie poddają się presji otoczenia i z najtrudniejszych doświadczeń potrafią czerpać wiedzę konieczną do dalszego rozwoju, same stając się orędowniczkami zmian. Wyleżyńska była ówczesną emancypantką w najlepszym znaczeniu tego słowa, a przy tym zdołała zachować dziecięcą wrażliwość obserwacji świata.

In this articule, I write only about women’s form of becoming known in literature through the writing. Such a presence determines female experience, family, social and national roles, love, initiation, rebellious or personal reports, and because of that is sending to the mythical and stereotyped phenomena rooted in the culture. It is also women’s getting to know world. I chose women’s personal notes from the 19th turning point and the 20th century – diaries which they constitute of certain kind reconstruction of the own history and the history of the family. So I will examine only chosen fragments of „Diaries” by Zofia Tołstojowa and „Memories” by Anna Dostojewska.

This paper is interdisciplinary in its approach. Its objective is to present traditional and theological aspects of folk medicine, so closely related to the faith and devotion of the rural communities. The authors present a variety of folk therapeutic practices, diagnosis and etiology of diseased. They also analyse the intrinsic logic of the speech and gestures used in the healing actions. The authors try to identify the Christian and the pagan (including magical) elements used in the healing rites and show the importance of folk medicine for theology as an academic discipline but also for the pastoral practice of the Church.
