The novel The Russian Nights (1844) proved to be a kind of philosophical and pictorial manifesto of Vladimir Odoevsky. The idea of ‘totality’ (целостность), conceived as a structure of internal and external world at the same time, was presented by the author in the concepts drawn from a variety of philosophical and esoteric systems. One of these forms — alchemical imagination — is used in the article to interpret the phenomenon of correlation that exists between the senses and the creative perception of space.

The article is an attempt of marking the tangents of Blok’s drama to the ideology of Rosicrucianism. That is why the initial system of the sprit initiation becomes the only possible terminology of the interpretation of The Rose and the Cross. Bertrand, the main hero of this drama, is an adept of the initiation of the rose and the cross.

SPIRALLING OR PERCEPTION OF SPACE IN A NOVEL NOTES OF AN ECCENTRIC BY АNDREY BELY Summary In the article the semantic and symbolic space of the novel Notes of an Eccentric, written by Andrei Bely on the principle of geometric shapes, is being discussed. Due to the novel’s date of creation, the anthroposophical symbols taken from Rudolf Steiner’s lectures are certainly the coding key here. Decoding in the novel additional hidden dimension of the space-time, one finds the principle of its construction - anthroposophical category of imagination, inspiration and intuition. Going through the next indicated stages of spiritual transformation, the hero becomes the alter ego of Bely himself and recreates the writer’s ‘spiritual biography’.

The article assumes a type of comparative-sensual experiment based on the concept of the esoteric emblem, and the form of artistic expression which is ‘The Black Square’ by Kazimir Malevich. By applying one concept to another, a positive result is obtained, which suggests another way of interpreting this suprematic painting,as an imaginary experience.
