Jan Paweł II w nauczaniu o życiu i starości człowieka wskazywał na godność osoby i wartość podeszłego wieku oraz na posłannictwo osób starszych. Głoszone słowa potwierdził własnym przykładem, szczególnie na etapie przeżywania swej starości i służby aż do końca sprawie Królestwa Bożego, by przejść z życia do życia, na które otwierał się z chrześcijańską nadzieją. To nauczanie i świadectwo Jana Pawła II pozostaje wciąż ważnym i inspirującym przesłaniem zarówno dla seniorów jak i tych, którzy korzystają z ich doświadczenia i mądrości oraz wspierają ich poprzez różne formy inicjatyw społecznych.

Pope John Paul II in teaching about life and old age of human pointed to the dignity and value of old age and the mission of the elderly. He confirmed the word preached by example, especially at the stage of living their own old age and serving until the end of his life for the Kingdom of God, to finally go from life to life, to which he was opened with the Christian hope. This teaching and testimony of Pope John Paul II still remains an important and inspiring message for both seniors and those who benefit from their experience and wisdom, and support them through various forms of social initiatives.
