For more than 100 years in the parish, Fr. Missionaries in Tarnow charity for the poor, the sick, injured, unemployed, large families is provided. Missionaries and the Sisters of Charity in accordance with their Vincentian charism decided to help the most needy. Help ward was supplied by other religious congregations in the parish. Since 1906 organized assistance was provided by religious orders for men and since 1934 these duties were taken over by the female of the Vincentian Association and the Association of Pa- rish „Caritas”. In particular, much good was done during World War II. The post-war communist liquidation of religious associations did not lead to the omission of relief charity. In 1981, there was a transparency of aid activities in the parish. The band was formed Vincentian Charity. In 1990, the Association of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul was founded. However, since 1993, operates department „Caritas”, and from October 28, 1995, the Division is „Caritas” of the Diocese of Tarnow, which has legal personality combined with „Caritas Poland”. Both material and spiritual assistance is provided. Tarnowskie Hospice Home includes a terminally ill both in the area of the parish, city and neighboring cities for 10 years.

At the Wadowice area in western Galicia end of the nineteenth century Priests Missionaries of St. Vincent de Paul carried out a series of popular missions. These missions took place in 1898. It was attended by nearly 6,000 faithful. The report from the mission was written by Fr. J. Sokołowicz. It was published in the “Annals Both congregations of St. Vincent de Paul. “ Missionary activity of priests mentioned congregation inscribed positively in the history of the Church of Wadowice.

The parish of the then diocese of Tarnów has also entered the structure of the diocese of Rzeszów 25 years ago. These are parishes with rich traditions and past. Complemented by the parishes that were created over many years and deposited in the Diocesan Archives. Archbishop Jerzy Ablewicz’s church records in Tarnow are photographic documentation. The stock of local acts, books and other documents produced in parishes of the diocese of Tarnów since 1992 to the Diocese of Rzeszów and located in the resources of the Diocese Archive in Tarnów is substantial. Metric books (baptized, married and deceased) cover the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. Some of them refer only to the nineteenth century. Moreover, documents from the departments of the deacon and canonical visits allow us to draw up an account of the history of particular parishes and deanships over the centuries. They provide valuable source material for research not only in the history of the Church, dioceses, but also in other departments of science. They are also an indisputable proof of the religiousness of the Diocese and the work of the clergy among the faithful.

In Wadowice, there was a report in the security structures of the Militia. This institution dealt with also other activities such as. Against the Catholic Church and other religious associations. The present “Report” of 1960. shows the comprehensive measures against the clergy and the faithful. In the 18-hundred issues included picture and analysis of the activities of Wadowice political police. It contains the characteristics of the Church in the district Wadowice, the activities of agents, the repression of the local clergy and the then emerging problems. “Report” is prepared synthetically in accordance with the requirements of the arbitrarily imposed pattern.
