Nicolai Hartmann is a representative of 20th-century German material ethic of values. In this paper I demonstrate the main arguments he gave against egoism and altruism. The arguments presented are as follows: a real egoistic tendency in a person does not result in the moral or axiological order or duty; egoism and altruism are related in a person; egoism and altruism are both one-sided positions. Hartmann affirms that egoism also has specific positive, indirect and direct values.

In this paper I demonstrate the selected problems concerning the relation between ethics and axiology of Nicolai Hartmann and ethics represented by Immanuel Kant. There are following questions: 1. the mode of existence of value; 2. the position of moral obligation in the structure of value; 3. the plurality of moral and axiological systems; 4. God and the moral character of human action; 5. Kantian practical reason and the real individual person as the subject of morality; 6. the problem of negative and affirmative freedom. Analysing these problems I endeavour to prove that the concrete relation between Hartmann and ethics of Kant modifies depending on considered detailed problem.

Dietrich von Hildebrand is a representative of 20th-century absolutism in axiology and ethics. In this paper I demonstrate the main arguments he gave against ethical relativism. These are: emotional cognition of values, axiological blindness (full constitutive value-blindness, partial value-blindness, blindness of subsumption), immanent contradiction of all relativism and some particular arguments against axiological relativism and subjectivism.

The first aim of in this paper is to present the main relations between multiculturalism and values. The second aim is to analyze relations between relativism (cultural, moral, axiological), pluralism and multiculturalism. In several aspects this relation is parallel to the relation between relativism, pluralism and liberalism. The parallel makes it possible to show a lot of axiological premises and difficulties concerning multiculturalism. It also enables one to demonstrate some essential obstacles occurring in its practical application. Based on the often observed relation between multiculturalism and relativism, I endeavour to demonstrate that it would be more effective to relate multiculturalism with the axiological pluralism.

In this paper the author demonstrates the understanding of original value cognition in the philosophy of M. Scheler and D. von Hildebrand. Scheler distinguishes between the feeling of value, the emotional reaction of response, preferring and 'placing after' and the act of love. In 'Die Idee der sittlichen Handlung' Hildebrand writes about the value feeling, the recognition of value (unfeeling) and the knowledge (that something is valuable). In 'Sittlichkeit und ethische Werterkenntnis' he distinguishes between value feeling, the seeing of value, and value knowledge (Kennen). Value response, so typical for Hildebrand, is not the cognition of value but only its basis.
