The author examines the dialogue between Teofi l Lenartowicz’s text Złoty kubek [Golden mug] and Janusz A. Ihnatowicz’s poem from the Selected poems collection, and between Lenartowicz’s work and Maria Pawlikowska-Jasnorzewska’s poem entitled Lenartowicz. The article is part of a research into intertextuality in the literary discourse.

Текст стосується віршів поета-емігранта Юзефа Лободовського, присвячених поетесі, вбитій незадовго до кінця війни – Зузанні Гінчанці. Вона була авторкою одного збірника поезій «Про Кентаврів», який вийшов до війни та анонсував надзвичайно цікаве явище. Лободовський назвав свою книгу-епітафію Спогади про Суламіту». Це вісімнадцять віршів, в яких ми знаходимо спогади про покійну письменницю. Автор створює своєрідну поетичну епітафію, в якій фігура вбитої єврейки займає особливе місце. Вірші засвідчують про особливий зв’язок обох поетів, що випливає насамперед із спорідненості душ, любові до слова. Усі тексти містять частини, що мають характер бесіди, яка відбувається на різних рівнях і стосується різних діапазонів стосунків – від спогадів про зустрічі, бесіди до проекції ситуацій з еротичним характером.

The discussion concerns the poems by an emigration poet Józef Łobodziński which are devoted to Zuzanna Ginczanka, a poet murdered just before the end of the war. She authored one collection of poems titled O centaurach which was published before the war and forecast a very interesting artistic output. Łobodziński titled his collection-epitaph Pamięci Sulamity. The collection combines eighteen poems - memoirs of the deceased poet. The author creates a peculiar poetic epitaph in which the character of the murdered Jew occupies a special place. The poems exhibit a specific relation between both poets as kindred spirits and also based on their love for words. All texts contain parts which resemble a conversation conducted at various levels, and concerning diverse ranges of relations - from memories of meetings, talks, to projections of sexually-marked situations.

Tekst dotyczy wierszy emigracyjnego poety Józefa Łobodowskiego poświęconych zamordowanej tuż przed zakończeniem wojny poetki – Zuzanny Ginczanki. Była autorką jednego tomiku poezji O centaurach, który ukazał się jeszcze przed wojną i zapowiadał niezwykle ciekawą twórczość. Łobodowski swój tomik-epitafium zatytułował Pamięci Sulamity, jest to osiemnaście wierszy, w których znajdujemy wspomnienia o nieżyjącej.  Autor tworzy swoiste poetyckie epitafium, w którym postać zamordowanej Żydówki zajmuje miejsce szczególne. Wiersze poświadczają szczególną więź obojga poetów wynikającą przede wszystkim z pokrewieństwa dusz, miłości do słowa. Wszystkie teksty zawierają partie mające charakter rozmowy, która toczy się na różnych poziomach i dotyczy różnych zakresów relacji – od wspomnienia spotkań, rozmów, po projekcję sytuacji o erotycznym nacechowaniu.

The article discusses the reciprocal interpretation of biography and literature. The subject of analysis is the biography of Jan Darowski, a writer associated for many years with the literary group „Kontynenty”. The past evoked in Darowski’s memoirs has a hierarchic structure – apart from the longer time sections constituting the framework for stories, shorter sections appear (e.g. events measured in days, weeks, months), which are complemented by episodes essential for the author. Darowski’s biography shows the tragedy of people who, similarly to the writer, got entangled in history and becomes a proper context for interpreting senses included in his works.

„Strasznie żywa jest ta śmierć” – o Wierszach dośmiertnych Zofii Zarębianki

Pre-death poems / Wiersze dośmiertne are the poet’s personal confessions, but also an attempt to tackle the topic of death experienced through the passing of relatives and friends. The crucial issues while encountering the problem of death are considerations on time and places that are, have been and will be important for a human being. The author, similarly to her earlier collections of poems, convinces the readers that every human action is imbued with meaning, sense as we are all searching for and incessantly trying to establish the aim of our activities. What is essential is that for the heroine who is a believer, death is not the end but it is the stage leading to salvation. The poet as an outstanding specialist in literary studies employs in those poems well-known motifs, uses paradox, contrast, she combines a naïve nursery rhyme with metaphysical dread, nevertheless, in all of those parts she remains authentic.
