This work contains seven documents from secret Soviet archives that have not been published yet, and which present Soviet authorities' intentions with regard to the organization of Soviet education in West Belarus and Bialystok Region as well as difficulties encountered by the schools concerning staff employment and teaching materials' availability. The second document includes extensive information about the state of education until the War in the North-Eastern lands of Poland, which were called West Belarus by the USSR. Another reason why this information is significant is the fact it contains statistical data based on the lost Polish archives. Their interpretation and a selection of facts apparently reflect the Soviet perspective on Polish matters, which was far-away from the then reality. The last three documents refer to the system of education in Bialystok Region, particularly to Soviet schools with a Polish language of instruction which encountered problems with the lack of teaching curricula and course books in Polish. A shortage of everything in the Soviet system afflicted these schools especially severely.
