This article presents a discussion of a pervert and neurotic pattern of behavior that is displayed by both a narrator and a novel’s characters. In Ferdydurke one can find ideas which were popular in medicine and psychoanalysis at that time, i.e. such as that normality is a social construct. We value what is “normative” in our social milieu for the sake of self-preservation. The common belief that perversion is a sign of a pathological personality should be revised – perversion is only one of the many adaptive strategies that are used in the human world. If we accept Freud’s and Lacan’s belief that every sexual activity that serves a function other than reproduction is a perversion, then we can say that every language activity that serves a purpose other than communication is a perversion as well. Ferdydurke proves that we are all polymorphously perverse and neurotic creatures in our daily lives.

Jan Błoński’s ecstasiesThe mode of literary reading Jan Błoński advocated and even often used to practise by himself was an ecstasy, that is, being enchanted and captured. And for the literary audience he – as a literary critic and scholar – left the door ajar to the garden of literary delights, especially in the years when landscape of literary research was set by the followers of structuralism. But he did not do in this matter so much as he could has done. This essay tries to answer why it was like that.

Poetics proposed by structuralists at its best did not respect its own premises in a dogmatic manner. It profited knowledge that today’s Theory (or so-called Post-Theory) considers helpful while dealing with the text. Unlike approaches held on metodologically narrow perspective, the heterogenic Post-Theory has a capacity for the reneval because it pays due regard to the consideration of paratopia of literaty text. It often happens that post-Theory is accused of obscurity and hermeticism, but „ignotum per ignotum, obscurum per obscurum rhetorics” is not always a vice, sometimes it seeks to respect the mystery of the text and its secret language.
