Rok 2022 to rocznica 400-lecia istnienia takiej komórki Kurii Rzymskiej, jaką jest Dykasteria Ewangelizacji Narodów. Koordynując bowiem działalność misyjną Kościoła na całym świecie, swą szczególną troską otacza młode wspólnoty eklezjalne tworzące kościoły partykularne na terytoriach misyjnych. Dokonując kolejnych reform, czy to całej Kurii Rzymskiej, czy to poszczególnych jej dykasterii, kolejni papieże podkreślali znaczenie tejże komórki w dziele misyjnym. Szczególnie dostrzec to można było podczas pontyfikatów Pawła VI czy Jana Pawła II, co zaowocowało reorganizacją struktur Kongregacji Propaganda Fide, a także całościową reformą Kurii na podstawie konstytucji apostolskiej Pastor bonus. Również i ojciec święty Franciszek, pragnąc dostosować pracę Kurii do czasów obecnych dokonał pewnych całościowych zmian, które dotknęły także Kongregację Ewangelizacji Narodów, zwaną odtąd Dykasterią Ewangelizacji Narodów.

The year 2022 marks the 400th anniversary of such a unit of the Roman Curia as the Dicastery for the Evangelisation of Peoples. The Dicastery coordinates the Church’s missionary activity throughout the world and it is particularly concerned with the young ecclesial communities that form the particular churches in mission territories. In the course of successive reforms of either the Roman Curia or its individual dicasteries, next popes underlined the importance of this unit in missionary work. This was particularly evident during the pontificates of Paul VI and John Paul II, which resulted in the reorganisation of the structures of the Congregation for Propaganda Fide, as well as the overall reform of the Curia on the basis of the apostolic constitution Pastor Bonus. Also, Pope Francis wishing to adapt the work of the Curia to the present times made some comprehensive changes that also affected the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples, henceforth known as the Dicastery for the Evangelization of Peoples.
