W artykule scharakteryzowano wspomnianą koncepcję i przedstawiono przykłady jej zastosowania w sektorze spożywczym.

The concept of closed-loop supply chain management is a very popular direction of research and companies' activities. It is associated with efforts like managing production residues (by-products and waste) in such a way as to minimize the level of waste transferred to landfills or incinerators. This article relates to the use of this concept in the food industry, which by its very nature, generates a lot of challenges for logistics management, also in the area of reverse flows. The article characterizes aforementioned concept and provides examples of its use in the food sector.

This paper aims to present Six Sigma as one of the concepts of business process improvement, including logistics processes. Firstly, the author presents the role of information logistics and controlling to improve the efficiency of supply logistics. Then, she focuses on the characteristics of Six Sigma, including Lean Management philosophy, and identifies the connection between logistics and this methodology. She also presents an example of using the Six Sigma tools in the process of supply in a chosen company

Aim/purpose – The paper aims to summarize approaches to complexity management by implementing particular logistics concepts within logistics strategies in global supply chains and to highlight a research gap in this regard. Additionally, complexity management concepts are presented. Design/methodology/approach – To achieve the research objective, a systematic literature review was used. 11 research paper were analyzed with use of review protocol. Findings – Approaches to mentioned research problem are heterogeneous in current literature and there is a research gap in complexity studies in logistics, precluding further research, for example, on complexity measurement systems. Research implications/limitations – Identified research gap will require further studies. Studied area requires more empirical research, especially in the field of complexity measurement and management techniques in particular global supply chains. Originality/value/contribution – The paper summarizes current knowledge about logistics concepts helping to manage complexity in global supply chains and defines research gaps. There are no available literature summary of that kind. The article contains a full review of logistics complexity management concepts presented in scientific literature until the end of 2016.

This paper aims to present the Business Intelligence tools as an element improving flow of information within the management information system and as a tool to facilitate the achieving the objectives of information supply system. In the first part of the paper the author presents the issues related to the specific character of information as a kind of resource and functioning of the information supply system in the enterprise. The second part of the article include the characteristics of Business Intelligence systems. The third part deals with the impact of Business Intelligence tools to the ongoing activities of information supply system.

Development of information and communication technologies is caused by global economic changes, especially internationalization of business activities, shortening product life cycles, oligopolization of industries and concentration of capital. Automotive industry has been a precursor of modern technology and management strategies for many years. Market changes have led to the need to build new logistics systems which main element is the modularity of production. Communication in global supply chains is largely based on software that uses many communication channels. This phenomenon of media convergence enables efficient flow of information between members of the supply chain and building modified value-added chains, especially by using virtual teams and software agents.
