The article refers to Pope Benedict XVI’s concern expressed in the Apostolic Exhortation Sacramentum Caritatis. The Pope puts emphasis on ars celebrandi which is to be duly performed by priests, deacons, and laymen. Benedict XVI is also concerned about some parts of the liturgy of the Eucharist, among others, the liturgy of the Word. He also draws attention to active participation, inculturation and full appreciation of big and small celebration groupsAccording to the Holy Father, in order to make the Eucharistic celebration more perfect some initiative must be created to stimulate the growth of real faith in the Holy Eucharist. Thanks to these attempts the Holy Mass can be piously celebrated and intensively experienced.

L’autore dell’articolo indica certe mancanze nell’atteggiamento, sia dei sacerdoti che dei laici, di fronte al sacramento dell’Eucaristia. L’antidoto contro questa situazione, lo vede in una migliore formazione biblica e liturgica di tutto il popolo di Dio, nell’obbedienza alle norme liturgiche e in una più spessa e profonda partecipazione alla Comunione sacramentale e spirituale, che contiene tutto il bene della Chiesa, cioè il Cristo stesso. I responsabili della giusta devozione eucaristica sono soprattutto i ministri dell’Eucaristia, che devono cercare di celebrare la liturgia della Santa Messa in modo appropriato ed educare così tutti al debito rispetto verso questo grande mistero salvifico.

This article presents a selection of well-known Polish literary works in order to prove that the Marian cult is an important and frequently recurrent literary motif. The specialist literature on the issue of Marian themes in Polish literature is abundant. The synthetic nature of this article hinders a broader discussion on that issue. The Marian cult hugely influenced the work of Polish poets and writers. The peak of its literary impact came in the 15th century, witnessing the birth of its many literary manifestations, with the leading role of the text entitled Bogurodzica [Mother of God]. However, Mother Mary was also worshipped in the works of Polish literary artists in other historical periods. Mary, as Mother of God, has always been seen as close to people who sought consolation and aid in their problems and in the turbulent events in the Polish history, as borne out by literary works.

Zawarte w artykule zestawienie powszechnie znanych utworów literatury polskiej pokazuje, że kult Matki Bożej jest ważnym i często wykorzystywanym motywem. Literatura przedmiotu traktująca o motywach maryjnych w literaturze polskiej jest niezwykle bogata. Syntetyczny charakter niniejszej publikacji nie pozwala na szczegółowe rozważania tej kwestii. Kult maryjny odcisnął swe piętno na twórczości polskich poetów i pisarzy, a szczególnie wyraźnie zaznaczył się w XV wieku, kiedy to powstało wiele zabytków literackich, z Bogurodzicą na czele. W innych okresach także polscy twórcy czcili Maryję i dawali temu wyraz w swoich dziełach. Maryja jako Matka Boga zawsze była bliska ludziom, którzy u Niej szukali pocieszenia i pomocy w trudnych dziejach historii Polski, czego świadectwem jest literatura.

One of the forms of cult, be it liturgical or extra-liturgical, is sacred music. This issue may be approached both from the perspective of the forms that are used in the cultic form, and of the subjects brought up in the music. Also, the subject of the cult expressed in the musical form is an important aspect here. Since the beginning of the existence of Christianity in Poland, beside the Holy Trinity and Christ Himself the Virgin Mary has been the object of cult. The Marian cult in music in Poland goes back to the Medieval times and has been practiced incessantly until modern times. The multitude of forms, like songs, canticles, hymns, sequences, antiphons, Marian oratories, allows not only expressing veneration for the Mother of God, but first of all it becomes a way to discover her presence in Christian life.

Streszczenie Jedną z form kultu tak liturgicznego, jak i pozaliturgicznego jest muzyka sakralna. Problematyka ta może być ujęta zarówno od strony form, które są wykorzystywane w funkcji kultycznej, jak i poruszanej w utworach tematyki. Ważnym aspektem jest również przedmiot kultu wyrażonego w formie muzycznej. Od początku istnienia chrześcijaństwa w Polsce obok Trójcy Świętej i samego Chrystusa przedmiotem kultu jest Najświętsza Maryja Panna. Dotyczy to każdej z epok historii Kościoła w Polsce. Kult maryjny w Polsce w muzyce sięga swymi początkami czasów średniowiecza i trwa nieprzerwanie aż do czasów współczesnych. Wielość form, jak chociażby pieśni, kantyki, hymny, sekwencje, antyfony, oratoria maryjne, pozwala nie tylko na wyrażenie czci Matce Bożej, ale przede wszystkim staje się drogą do odkrycia jej obecności w życiu chrześcijańskim.

The article was inspired by the Year of Saint Joseph (2020/2021), announced by Pope Francis on 8 December 2020, and the occasional Apostolic Letter Patris corde, as well as the teaching of the post-Conciliar Church and the growing liturgical and non-liturgical worship of St Joseph. The aim of the article is to show the spirituality of St Joseph as a model and sign for contemporary people. The intended goal made it possible to specifically formulate the problem of the study, which boils down to the question: why does St Joseph appear as kairos in the third millennium? In order to achieve the set goal and solve the problem, the article was structured in the form of a triptych. The first chapter presents a feature of Joseph’s biography in light of the Gospel. It shows the gradual discovery of the place and role of St Joseph in the history of salvation. The second chapter presents selected aspects of Josephological spirituality that call for imitation. The third chapter is devoted to the reading of Saint Joseph’s kairos, given to us for the third millennium. The research conducted in each of the chapters has indicated that the lived Year of Saint Joseph, which is celebrated by the universal Church, as well as the growing interest in Josephological spirituality, inspire us to deepen his multi-dimensional personality and draw from it a universal message for the third millennium. Such an approach to the person and mission of St Joseph makes it possible to discover and honour him as a special patron for the difficult period of the third millennium. The importance of St Joseph continues to grow, and his intercession is becoming effective and more necessary, especially in the community of believers. The dissertation makes one aware that the holy patriarch teaches us, with the power of his faith, to entrust the history of mankind to God in the great confusion of contemporary disbelief. Moreover, his unique attitude involving silence, combined with praying for silence and work, makes him a man of the Gospel. Joseph’s faith in Christ and his faithfulness to the Gospel are “a sign of the times” for contemporaries and must be constantly read, making St Joseph a specific kairos for the third millennium.

Artykuł powstał dzięki inspiracji Rokiem Świętego Józefa (2020/2021), ogłoszonym przez papieża Franciszka 8 grudnia 2020 roku, oraz okolicznościowym Listem apostolskim "Patris corde", a także nauczaniem Kościoła posoborowego i wzrastającym kultem liturgicznym i pozaliturgicznym św. Józefa. Celem artykułu jest ukazanie duchowości św. Józefa jako wzoru i znaku dla współczesnych ludzi. Zamierzony cel pozwolił na konkretne sformułowanie problemu studium, który sprowadza się do pytania: Dlaczego św. Józef jawi się jako kairos w trzecim tysiącleciu? By osiągnąć postawiony cel i rozwiązać problem, artykuł ustrukturyzowano w formę tryptyku. Pierwszy rozdział ukazuje biogram Józefa w świetle Ewangelii. Uwidocznia on stopniowe odkrywanie miejsca i roli św. Józefa w historii zbawienia. Drugi rozdział prezentuje wybrane aspekty duchowości św. Józefa, wzywającej do naśladowania. Z kolei trzeci rozdział jest poświęcony odczytaniu kairos tego świętego, dany nam na trzecie tysiąclecie. Przeprowadzone analizy w poszczególnych rozdziałach wykazały, że przeżywany Rok Świętego Józefa w Kościele powszechnym oraz rosnące zainteresowanie duchowością józefologiczną inspirują do pogłębiania jego wielowymiarowej osobowości oraz czerpania z niej uniwersalnego przesłania na trzecie tysiąclecie. Takie spojrzenie na osobę i misję św. Józefa pozwala odkrywać i czcić w nim szczególnego patrona na trudny czas trzeciego tysiąclecia. Znaczenie św. Józefa wciąż rośnie, a jego orędownictwo staje się skuteczne i bardziej potrzebne, zwłaszcza we wspólnocie wierzących. Rozprawa ukazuje, że święty patriarcha mocą swej wiary uczy, by zawierzyć Bogu dzieje ludzkości w zamęcie współczesnej niewiary. Nadto jego wyjątkowa postawa milczenia, połączona z modlitwą ciszy i pracy, czyni go człowiekiem Ewangelii. Wiara Józefa w Chrystusa i wierność Ewangelii to dla współczesnych „znaki czasu”, które należy ustawicznie badać i wyjaśniać, a które ukazują go jako swoisty kairos trzeciego tysiąclecia.

The theme of the article, Domestic Liturgy as the Realization of Biblical Principles of Family Life, is still relevant and valid. It concerns the worship of God in the domestic liturgy and the Christian family living according to biblical principles. The problem of this study is summed up in the question: to what extent does the domestic liturgy facilitate and inspire the realization of the principles of family life found in the Bible? To answer this question, the dissertation is structured in two parts: principles of family life in Scripture (1) and domestic liturgy (2). The theologico-biblico-liturgical analyses carried out led to the achievement of the intended goal in the form of practical conclusions. The study has shown that it is necessary (especially in this time of an ongoing pandemic with no end in sight) to give greater value and appreciation to domestic liturgy, which promotes the application of the principles of family life contained in the Decalogue and the Bible. The presented conclusions of the article testify to its originality and inspire further research in the discussed topic.
