Tekst stanowi podsumowanie wyników badań prowadzonych w ramach pracy doktorskiej. Przedmiotem badań i refleksji jest przyjaźń osób dorosłych i uczenie się w sytuacji przyjaźni. Autorka wprowadza zjawisko – relację przyjaźni w obszar badań andragogicznych i prezentuje ich wyniki. Pokazuje, iż przyjaźń – uniwersalna przestrzeń życia człowieka – współwystępuje z procesami uczenia się, realizowanego przy okazji „dziania się” przyjaźni.

The text is summation research results of Ph.D. Dissertation. The subject is adult friendship and adult learning in friendship. Author introduces a phenomenon – the relationship of friendship as an area of andragogical research and presents the results. It shows that friendship – a universal space of human life – coexists with the processes of learning, realized along with the „happening” of friendship.

Current scientific publications present different paradigms of masculinity, but research in this area is a relatively new perspective. However, the specific nature of the everyday experience of people with intellectual disability is still neglected and unrecognised. The aim of this article is to show the concept of masculinity from the perspective of men with intellectual disability. The research is placed in the stream of qualitative research using a case study as a method. The subject of the research covers the statements of men with intellectual disability concerning masculinity. The analysis of the research material obtained from 12 interviews allowed for the identification of four types of masculinity.

The present paper is an attempt to describe the phenomenon of differentness experienced by persons with intellectual disability. The author presents the results of research which forms a part of a larger research project concerning social worlds of adults with intellectual disability. Kathy Chamaz’s methodology of constructiveinterpretative grounded theory has been utilised both as a strategy of collecting research material, and as a method of its analysis. The group of respondents consists of 14 adults with intellectual disability attending to the Communal Home of Mutual Aid, and their carers (among them parents and workers of the Home). The results show differentness as a phenomenon experienced by almost all persons with intellectual disability.

The text is an attempt to present the phenomenon of experiencing otherness by adult people with mental disability. The author presents survey results which are a part of a bigger project researching the microworlds of adults with intellectual disability. In the research, both as the strategy of collecting the research materials and the method of their analysis, the methodology of constructing grounded theory by Kathy Charmaz was used. 14 adults with intellectual disability, attendees of the Community Centre of Self-Help, were researched, as well as 14 attendants (including parents and the centre’s employees). The results showed otherness as a specific phenomenon experienced by all the surveyed people with intellectual disability.

The text describes, based on own research, the case of a 65-year-old woman with Asperger’s syndrome. The main aim of the research was to answer the question: what is the age of the examined woman with Asperger’s syndrome? The article begins with a theoretical introduction to the discussed issues, where the most important issues concerning Asperger’s syndrome and old age and aging are presented with emphasis on continuity theory. Next, the characteristics of the examined woman in the context of her family, living, educational and professional situation, health and interpersonal relations were taken into account. The article concludes with conclusions and a summary. It should be stressed that the described case can only be treated as a pilot study and preparation of the ground for further explorations of a wider scope.

W tekście opisano, na podstawie badań własnych, przypadek 65-letniej kobiety z zespołem Aspergera. Głównym celem badań było uzyskanie odpowiedzi na pytanie: jaka jest starość badanej kobiety z zespołem Aspergera? Artykuł rozpoczyna się od wprowadzenia teoretycznego w poruszaną problematykę, gdzie przedstawiono najważniejsze zagadnienia dotyczące zespołu Aspergera oraz starości i starzenia się z zaakcentowaniem teorii ciągłości. Następnie uwzględniono charakterystykę badanej kobiety w kontekście jej sytuacji rodzinnej, bytowej, edukacyjno-zawodowej, zdrowotnej, relacji międzyludzkich. Artykuł kończą wnioski i podsumowanie. Należy przy tym podkreślić, że opisany przypadek, może być traktowany jedynie jako badanie pilotażowe i przygotowanie gruntu dla kolejnych eksploracji o szerszym zakresie.

The text, based on the author’s own research, describes the case of a student with a hearing impairment in the context of the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. The main aim of the research was to answer the question: how did a person with a hearing impairment function during the pandemic and in what dimensions is the pandemic situation a crisis for the examined student with a hearing impairment? The article begins with an introduction to the discussed issues, then takes into account a short description of the studied student and the results of the analysis of the research material obtained with the use of a free-form interview. The article ends with conclusions and a summary. It should be emphasized that the described case can only be treated as a pilot study and preparation of the ground for further explorations of a wider scope.
