Artykuł jest próbą zarysu nowego znaczenia informacji w dzisiejszym świecie. Spektakularny wzrost znaczenia informacji i technologii komunikacyjnych w ostatnich latach zmienia sposób postrzegania współczesnego społeczeństwa. Obecnie stajemy się świadkami historycznej przemiany, gdzie społeczeństwo industrialne staje się społeczeństwem informacyjnym. Siłą dzisiaj jest informacja. Nie jest ona zależna ani od warunków geograficznych, ani od innych podobnych cech. Sukces społeczeństw zależy od zdolności tworzenia, zarządzania i gromadzenia informacji. Informacja jest główną wartością na świecie.

This article is an attempt to outline a new meaning in today’s information world. The spectacular rise of information and communication technologies in recent years, changing the way of modern society. Today we are witnessing a historical transformation, where the industrial society is changing into information society. The strength of today is information. It is not dependent either on geographical conditions or other similar features. The success of society depends on the ability to successfully create, manage and gather information. Information is the main value in the world.
