Pedagogical Province of P. Sloterdijk: Revolutions on the Borders

A comprehensive introduction to P. Sloterdijk’s political anthropology and philosophy of education is presented. Conditions and consequences of revolution in the second person singularity are analyzed. The differences of the social and political slogans in the 19-th, 20-th and 21-th centuries are showed. In the context of the anthropological-technical turn, there are regarded the concepts of exercise, habits, inertia and post-passivity considering as a foundation of education which can change the human being. There is also traced the connection of philosophy and educational practice from the ancient Greeks to Modernity in Sloterdijk’s version. The return of philosophy to the life is regarded as actualization of Paideia that makes active its educational potential. A tendency of pedagogical invasion into politics is a dominant motive of Sloterdijks arguing on the borders of the open pedagogical province as a place of an intensive pedagogical interaction.

There are considered the evolution of Peter Sloterdijk’s philosophical views, his theoretical constructs of the spherical being, as well his philosophical theory of globalization which is at the same time a philosophical space theory with the proposal to substitute the concept of world for the concept of sphere. The author elucidates the emotional-psychological foundation of this theory as a ground of a new political psychology, and analyzes the system of categories and theoretical foundation of the anthropo-technical turn, called for finding of new resources for philosophy.

Оскільки запропонована нижче екскурсія по філософських ландшафтах цього неординарного і навіть екстраваґантного мислителя не може перетворитися на довготривалу подорож, бо має за мету розставити деякі маркери та дороговкази на окреслених теренах, ми почнемо її на тому відрізку шляху, де зазначені праці, наче узгір’я, вже залишились позаду, але все ще залишаються на горизонті.

Democracy and philosophy: K. Jaspers’ political will and challenges of today

The article presents the didactic version of Jaspers’ political philosophy, where the intrinsic connection of philosophy and democracy is explicated. The evolution of democracy is shown. There are analyzed its new theoretical conceptualizations including the anthropological premises. There is also taken a comparison with Ukrainian actual social and political contexts, where the theoretical suggestions made by Jaspers can be verified or used as impulses for rethinking democracy theories and for their implications. The status of philosophy in the modern societies, in which it is respected only formally, needs to be changed because, in its absentia, the very existence of democracy and the European way of life are running the risk of destruction.

Визнання відданості демократії, відстоювання демократичних цінностей та норм життя є пріоритетним завданням для всіх суспільств, які прагнуть досягти сталого розвитку, утримувати та примножувати досягнене і, головне, забезпечити гідне існування кожній людині. Це завдання значно ускладнюється у країнах з тоталітарним минулим, де демократію сприймають радше серцем, ніж розумом. Любов до демократії і повсякденна праця задля демократії далеко не завжди йдуть пліч-о-пліч, адже останнє потребує чіткого усвідомлення стратегії соціальних і політичних трансформацій, формування культури свободи і досвіду критичного мислення.
