The article is dedicated to exercises that aim to help in L2 acquisition of colour terms. In the theoretical part the authors discuss some implications of cognitive theories of categorical colour perception for teaching a foreign language. The practical part consists of sample exercises that present ways of teaching semantics of colours.

The article describes a few channels to learn Polish as a foreign language on YouTube. It displays how YouTube videos can impact the human brain and how they can help students in the learning process. Moreover, the article shows both advantages and disadvantages of using the particular videos. A part of them can help e.g. to do dictation exercises or to extend lexical resources. On the other hand, there are a few videos which can confuse students by an unclear or vulgar content.

The article presents methods of teaching expressions of reason and purpose in Polish language. The authors propose exercises which both teach characteristic Polish reason and purpose clauses (A and B level) and present an arsenal of semantic means to express those relations (B and C levels) . Tasks end with the exercises for the most advanced students, who are supposed to construct longer texts with a clear, detailed account of the course of events along with information of reason or purpose.

The article is dedicated to teaching different forms of expressing annoyance, anger and frustration in Polish. In the theoretical part the authors discuss some implications of cross-cultural differences in language pragmatics when it comes to irritation, exasperation or anger. The practical part consists of sample exercises that present specific Polish vocabulary used to express these negative emotions and discusses social situations in which they can by expressed.

In this article, the author challenges the way the cultural competence is shaped by private events in Poland, such as: birthday’s parties, invited family dinners or farewell parties. In the theoretical part, pointed out are possible core differences in celebrations and their significance for the foreigners learning Polish language.
