In this paper competitive ability was defined as long term skill of delivering products or services, accepted by market. Model of this ability is described by function of environment conditions, their perception by management, awareness of this management, innovative reaction time, resources (especially HR and intellectual capital) and motivation. Innovation was showed as instrument of building of competition advantages. HR was showed not only as a field of competition advantages but also as creating power of innovation. The analysis of industrial enterprises points to the managerial staff attitudes as a decisive factor of enterprises innovation activities and economic status.
The study focuses on the issues of innovation activity and attitudes towards innovations in Polish enterprises. Based on research, main factors influencing quantity and quality of innovation are identified. Among them an international transfer of knowledge is distinguished as a factor responsible for a strong differentiation of innovation activity. Management perception and attitudes towards economic phenomena, including innovation, are considered to be causative factors of innovations and general business economic performance.
This article concentrates on the role of human resources in an innovation business - a company that can be perceived as an one that sees changes in the environment and treats them as opportunities while utilizing innovation as a primary instrument for competing on the market. Human resources have been identified as a source of innovation as has the strong connection between HRM and a company's market strategy. Various placements of two groups of innovators - managers and creators - within the company structure have been presented. Also depicted are principles of building and implementing motivational systems.
