The aim of the article is to emphasize how clusters affect industries of transport, freight forwarding and logistics for the development of a region (with particular reference to aspects of clusters for the TSL within the Silesian region). Also, the article gives examples of European clusters which participated in the development of regions within the EU. The article focuses on the elements which need particular attention when initiating the process of cluster for the TSL sector.

Celem artykułu jest wskazanie na efekty, jakie przynosi klastrowanie się branż transportu, spedycji, logistyki dla rozwoju regionu (ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem aspektów klastrowania TSL w regionie śląskim). W artykule podano też przykłady logistycznych klastrów europejskich, które miały swój udział w rozwoju regionów UE. Wymieniono elementy, na które należy zwrócić szczególną uwagę, inicjując proces klastrowania sektora TSL.

The aim of the study is to indicate solutions for a dedicated logistic and transport system that facilitates carriage of goods in the automotive industry. Innovative solutions are the responsibility of the authorities of the region. The need for implementing them could be included in the Transport Development Strategy of the Voivodship, with account taken of their compatibility with the concept of Spatial Development of the Country and the National Strategy for Regional Development. Undertaking dedicated infrastructural and organizational ventures in the region’s leading industry can contribute to the economic development of the region, but this will depend on the organizational capacities and the funding available. At the outset, it is worth investigating/ researching whether, in the opinion of regional entrepreneurs, the proposed solutions are desirable. The article shows the results of such research, confirming the hypothesis that the Silesia’s automotive industry leaders expect dedicated solutions in the regional logistic and transport network.

Celem opracowania jest wskazanie rozwiązań dla dedykowanego systemu logistyczno- transportowego usprawniającego przewóz towarów w branży motoryzacyjnej. Innowacyjne rozwiązania leżą w gestii władz regionu, potrzebę ich wdrożenie można zawrzeć w Strategii Rozwoju Transportu Województwa rozważając ich zgodność z Koncepcją Przestrzennego Zagospodarowania Kraju i Krajową Strategią Rozwoju Regionalnego. Podjęcie dedykowanych (wiodącej branży regionu) przedsięwzięć infrastrukturalnych i organizacyjnych, może przyczynić się do rozwoju gospodarczego regionu, ale to zależne będzie od możliwości organizacyjnych oraz pozyskania odpowiednich funduszy. Warto na początek zbadać czy w opinii regionalnych przedsiębiorców proponowane rozwiązania są pożądane. W artykule pokazano wyniki takich badań, potwierdzając hipotezę, że przedsiębiorcy wiodącej w regionie Śląska branży motoryzacyjnej oczekują dedykowanych rozwiązań w regionalnej sieci logistyczno-transportowej.
